Mt Lyell Anchorage is the place to stay in Queenstown for friendly service, very comfortable beds and lots of old world charm.
The house was built in the late 1890s and has recently undergone major renovations. Old fireplaces have been uncovered and beautiful timbers stripped of paint. With stunning pressed tin ceilings through most of the house and beautiful timber panelling down the long hallway you have a feeling of the charm and grandeur of a bygone era.
Two new luxurious ensuite bathrooms have been added and the new electric heating along with the wood fire in the guest lounge make this a very cosy place to stay.
All rooms have bathrobes, electric blankets & heating and the beds are so comfortable that many guests sleep in. Plentiful breakfast provisions are available in the communal kitchen for a hearty breakfast or a late night snack. Umbrellas and undercover parking are also provided should it be raining during your visit.
